Follow
these easy steps below to set up Open Transport PPP to the Internet
(If you need the Remote Access setup instructions, scroll down
to the bottom.)
1. From
the Apple menu, select Control Panels.
2. Open
the TCP/IP control panel.

3. Set
Connect via to PPP and Configure to Using
PPP Server.
4. IP
address, Router address and Subnet mask should all look like this: <will
be supplied by server>
5. For
Name server addr, make sure the box is blank. Also make sure that Additional
Search Domains is blank as well.
6. Note: If
you have a field called Starting Domain Name as shown on the screenshot
above, make sure the box is empty. Some versions
of Open Transport TCP/IP do no include the Starting and Ending Domain Name
fields.
7. Close the window and confirm that you wish to
save changes.
8. You should now restart your computer.
Remote Access Setup Instructions.
1. From the Apple menu, select Control
Panels and choose Remote Access or PPP (depending on what you have
in your Control Panel.)
2. Select
Registered User.
3. In
the Name field, enter your GlobalNet username. ie: username@surfglobal.net.
4. In
the Password field, enter your password (the
one you chose when you signed up to GlobalNet).
5. Place
a checkmark in the Save Password box if you want Remote Access to save
your password between sessions.
6. Enter
in the phone number to dial in the number field, which should be the number
which was provided from either GlobalNet or from our website.

7. Click
on the Options button.
8. If
you originally selected Remote Access from the Control Panels:
* Click
on the Protocol tab.
* Under
Use Protocol, select PPP.
* Place
a checkmark in the box beside Connect automatically
when starting TCP/IP applications.
9. If
you originally selected PPP from the Control Panels:
* Click
on the Connection tab.
* Place
a checkmark in the box beside Connect automatically
when starting TCP/IP applications.
10. Click
OK. To connect to GlobalNet, bring up the
Remote Access or PPP control panel and click Connect. To disconnect, click
on
the Disconnect button.
